HopOn Bike Camp p/b Westshore Parks and Rec

Spend your summer break mastering new bike skills with Cycling BC’s HopOn instructors.

In partnership with the Westshore Parks & Rec, this 5-day camp helps riders build the skills and confidence to tackle beginner mountain bike trails. Each day includes a skill, a game, and a bike ride in the community. Open to ages 7-12, Skill Level 4-5. Each week also includes 2 one-hour pool sessions (unstructured).

Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Gallagher provides sports accident and general liability coverage for instructors and participants.

Rental equipment is available upon request. In addition, Cycling BC provides bicycle storage (optional) during the week. Participants may also add the purchase of our HopOn T-shirt, certificate and sticker kit during registration. Learn more at cyclingbc.net/hoponswag.

How do I register my child?

Participants should be comfortable with ALL the following (Level 4-5):

  • Turn quickly with inside foot up,
  • Roll-off sidewalk curb smoothly,
  • Lift front wheel,
  • Stop and go without foot tap,
  • Ability to exercise for 60 minutes.

Please carefully read Cycling BC Skill Levels before registering. This camp is for levels 4 and 5.

To prepare, please bring the following:

  • Water, Lunch and snacks,
  • Gloves, All-weather clothing
  • Helmets (CSA approved)
  • Spare tire & levers
  • Mountain bike with gears and hand brakes
    • Overnight bike storage is available @ Cycling BC’s office (secured)
    • Rental bikes are available for riders 4’0 – 5’5″ tall
    • Conduct a bike safety check at a registered bike shop
