HopOn Port Coquitlam p/b Thrashers Bike Club

Hello! I’m Drew Nelson, and I am starting a new after-school bike skills program in the Tri-Cities for young children this spring.  I am a long-time cyclist and a parent to a young child. I am excited to start a new program in our neighbourhood and build upon the success of previous cycling events in the community.

Our 2022 spring program is for riders with skill levels 0-1 (ages 4-6). This means our program is for 5-year-olds transitioning from their run bike to their pedal bike or helping new pedalers build confidence and make friends.

Our six sessions include a few skills, a game, and a bike ride in the community. Parents of children still learning to pedal are welcome to stay during the session and provide support. Participants will need their bike, a helmet, and their STOKE!

As recipients of a HopOn Development Grant, our instructors have registered with Cycling BC, undergone NCCP training, and completed a background screening. In addition, Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Gallagher provides sports accident and general liability coverage for instructors and participants.

Drop-in ($12) is now available for May 26 and onwards. Please register before noon on the session day to ensure our instructors download the correct information to keep your child safe.
