Meet new friends, improve your biking skills, and have fun this autumn with River City Cycling Club and Cycling BC’s HopOn program.
This 5-day morning-only camp is funded by Sport Canada CSIA grants to help train new instructors and provide discounted cycling programs for new communities. Cycling BC-affiliated youth club Escape Velocity DEVO delivers the program, led by club members who have completed our HopOn instructor training program.
This camp is focused on helping local youth experience the thrill of cyclocross, a combination of mountain biking but on faster bikes with skinnier tyres, aka STEEPLECHASE on bikes. Best of yet, we can provide specialty rental cyclocross bikes for any participants in need – thank you, LANDYACHT bike shop, for your generous support of this initiative. Each morning session includes skills, games, and a bike ride in the community. Open to students of the Stride Community School, ages 10-14, Skill Level 4-5.
Cycling BC’s insurance policy with Gallagher provides sports accident and general liability coverage for instructors and participants. Participants may add the purchase of our HopOn T-shirt, certificate and sticker kit during registration. Learn more at cyclingbc.net/hoponswag.
