DESCRIPTION:HopOn After-School Bike Program\, in partnership with the City of Coquitlam\n \nSpend each Friday after-school making friends\, learning new skills\, and having fun with Cycling BC’s HopOn instructors! Each 90-minute session includes fun and age-appropriate skills\, games\, and bike rides in partnership with Cycling BC HopOn. \nChildren must self-assess as HopOn level 3-4 (able to roll off a sidewalk curb\, use their brakes safely and go down a hill) and range from 8-12 years old. Participants must bring their bike and helmet. \nCycling BC’s insurance policy with Gallagher provides sports accident and general liability coverage for instructors and participants. \nHow do I register my child? \n\nSTEP 1 – Register via the City of Coquitlam (00162206)\n\nOpens for Coquitlam residents on August 13th at 8:30 am\nOpens for the general public on August 15th at 8:30 am\n\n\nSTEP 2 – Sign the acknowledgment of risk form & purchase HopOn Membership ($25)\n\nParticipants should be comfortable with ALL the following: \n\nTurn quickly\nLook behind while riding straight\nRoll off a sidewalk curb\n\nPlease carefully read Cycling BC Skill Levels before registering. This camp is for levels 3-4. \nTo prepare\, please bring the following: \n\nSMILES!\nWater\, Lunch and snacks\,\nGloves\, All-weather clothing\nHelmets (CSA approved)\nSpare tubes & levers\nKids’ bike with gears and hand brakes\nConduct a bike safety check at a registered bike shop\n\nParticipants receive a welcome email 7-14 days before the program starts.
