This skills-focused session provided rental bikes\, helmets\, and NCCP Club-certified instructors. \nStudents also work together to learn to ride the stationary rollers and understand group riding etiquette on the velodrome\, building spatial awareness and consideration for fellow participants. As a result of this 3-week program\, students may be invited to attend other youth sessions\, including Wednesday and Friday fitness-focused sessions. \nThis September 2023 cohort is open to the public. \nIf you live in Burnaby or the Tri-Cities area\, please register\, and we will confirm logistics with you. We will pick your child up at their school between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m. We have 14 spots available and will transport the participants to the velodrome in time to be prepared for the 4:30 p.m.-6:00 p.m. session on the track. Parents pick up children at the velodrome between 6:05 p.m. – and 6:15 p.m. Parents are welcome to visit earlier and watch the session from the spectator area. \nEach session includes a fundamental velodrome skill that helps the riders prepare to ride the velodrome safely and skillfully. Our instructor team abides by Cycling BC’s youth club instructor standards and carries background screenings\, ethics training\, and NCCP certification in velodrome cycling. In addition\, participants become Cycling BC HopOn Members through registration and receive liability and sports accident coverage during HopOn activities for the remainder of the calendar year. \nIf your child does NOT require transportation\, or your child’s school is outside the shuttle operating range\, please register using our system to ensure FREE entry\, and bring your child to the Burnaby Velodrome by 4:15 p.m. \nProgram Dates: \n\nSept 14   @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm\nSept 21   @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm\nSept 28  @ 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm\n\nAdditional 3-week cohorts begin on October 5\, November 2\, and November 30\, respectively (learn more here).
